arambe Ethiopia is headed by Ethiopian, Yonas Beshawred, a 2009 graduate of the University of Maryland. In partnership with the Robert H. Smith School of Business of the University of Maryland, Harambe Ethiopia is leveraging the resources and capabilities of Ethiopia’s global intellectual capital to help address major challenges in the financial sector. To this end, selected Ethiopian students from the University of Maryland, have conducted research and are working with Kiva.org and Ethiopian organizations to help channel the vast financial resources of the Ethiopian Diaspora towards rural entrepreneurs in Ethiopia.
