ccording to UNESCO, over 160,000 young Africans leave the shores of the continent annually to hone their skills and talents in colleges and universities abroad. The consequences of this trend, as well documented by the World Bank, generally renders Africa’s talent pool globally competitive yet it leads to striking paradoxes such as the fact that there are more Ethiopian doctors in Chicago, than the whole of Ethiopia.

To address this challenge the Virtual Platform Idea to Action Group (I2A), established at the HBWS II and spearhead by Northeastern graduate, Lanre Aina, has been advocating for the need to create a virtual platform to serve as a first-of-a-kind crowd-sourcing online service dedicated exclusively to bridging the disconnect between talented and entrepreneurial Africans and the challenges on the African continent.
