he Harambe Bretton Woods Symposium is the annual gathering of the Harambe Endeavor Alliance. Held on the Ivy League campuses of Harvard University and Dartmouth College and the historic Mount Washington Hotel, the intimate colloquium between young African professionals from leading academic institutions around the world and global leaders in the private and public sectors is an effort to translate ideas on the development of Africa into action.

Starting in 2008, the HBWS has assembled 100 African students and resulted in student conceived and led initiatives in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, and Nigeria, as well as advocacy efforts in China, South Africa, South Korea and United Kingdom.

Okendo, Prince and founding member Brian Kanarek, chose Bretton Woods not just because of their New Hampshire roots, but also because of the historic relevancy of Bretton Woods as the birthplace of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in 1944.
